This week we have a special Christmas edition, but we’re not covering Christmas episodes. Instead, I asked our hosts to pick a show to cover. And lo, here is the result.

This week we’re exploring hybrid toy shows from the 80s with Kenner’s M.A.S.K., commiserating about how much high school sucks with Freaks and Geeks, and returning to a childhood favorite with Saved by the Bell.

  • Review of “M.A.S.K.”
  • Review of “Freaks and Geeks”
  • Review of “Saved by the Bell”

Next episode:

We let you decide what we cover next! Next week’s theme is One Season Wonders! These are shows that only aired for a single season but are still widely beloved, like Freaks and Geeks.

The choices are: The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr, Battlestar Galactica 1977, and Eerie, Indiana

If you ever wondered whatever became of me, then I’m hear to tell you we’re on the air in WKRP in Cincinnati. Premiering in 1978 and created by Hugh Wilson, WKRP was never supposed to be a hit show. But the show, starring Gary Sandy and Gordon Jump, supported by Loni Anderson, Richard Sanders, Frank Bonner, Jan Smithers, Tim Reid, and Howard Hesseman, was a surprise hit and a long lasting syndicated show.

Spacey news

This is normally something we don’t do here at NetFreaks, but since there has been news concerning Netflix shows we felt compelled to say something. Netflix has announced that it decided months ago to end House of Cards after the next season, season six, and let this news be known after the allegations made against Kevin Spacey by Anthony Rapp.

Netflix also put out a joint statement with Media Rights Capital saying they were “deeply troubled” by the accusations and this was joined by House of Cards showrunner Beau Willimon.

In light of this, there will be a discussion on how we will cover House of Cards season 6 when it premieres. We’d also like to extend Anthony Rapp our support for his bravery in coming forward. Even though he will likely never hear this we want to tell him we believe him and we hope this encourages others to speak out about similar events in their lives.
